Prof. Dr. Tomas Torres-Cebada from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Furuta from Kyushu University, Prof. Dr. Jonathan L. Sessler from University of Texas and Dr. Zhan Zhang from Shanghai University visited our college and gave reports on Jul. 1st, 2016. Some professors and students in our college attended this satellite meeting.
Prof. Dr. Tomas Torres-Cebada’s report entitled as ‘Regio-, stereo-, and atropselective synthesis of C60 fullerene bisadducts by supramolecular-directed functionalization’ focuses on a novel example of controlled bisaddition over C60 fullerene in which the occurrence of π-π supramolecular interactions between structurally-rigid, Pcs addends in solution led to the formation of a Pc2-C60 bisadduct triad in a regio- and stereocontrolled fashion. In the Pc2-C60 triad, the two Pc units are interacting through intramolecular π-stacking interactions, as demonstrated by several techniques.
Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Furuta’s report entitled as ‘A journey into the confused world: from porphyrin isomer to expanded/contracted porphyrin analogues’ mainly concerns about synthesis and application of expanded/contracted porphyrin analogues.
In Prof. Dr. Jonathan L. Sessler’s report ‘Expanded porphyrins: a personal journey’ application of lanthanides porphyrinate in therapy is introduced as well as the synthesis of expanded porphyrins.
Dr. Zhan Zhang’s report ‘Cyclo[m]pyridine[n]pyrroles: Novel hybrid expanded porphyrinoids with diverse structures and properties’ mainly focuses on the synthesis, structures and properties of cyclo[m]pyridine[n]pyrroles.
